In McDonaldland, what's the name of the cop?

Dear Straight Dope:

I've been trying for years to find out the name of the law enforcement official among the McDonaldland gang. While he is obviously a Big Mac (witness the middle bun), none of the many managers, cashiers, janitors, or bewildered customers I've asked in McDonald's franchises across the country can name the fellow. The corporate website is of no help either, and my letters to McDonald's headquarters have gone unanswered. Everyone knows Grimace, the Hamburglar, Mayor McCheese, Ronald, even the Fry Guys, but the peace officer remains sadly anonymous. Please help. --Kirk Sanders, Austin, Texas

Sometimes, the obvious is the answer, Kirk.

The McDonaldland character's name is simply "Big Mac" (as seen on the 1977 commemorative McDonaldland Action glasses, which are available for purchase from some collectors for as high as $8.00).

Sure beats being called "twoallbeefpattiesspecialsaucelettucecheesepicklesonionsonasesame seedbun."
