Dear Cecil: Whatever happened to Dooley Wilson, who played Sam in Casablanca? R.S., Phoenix

Cecil replies:

Dooley scored his last film credit in 1951 with the release of Passage West. What with the revival of interest in Casablanca in recent years, he could probably have made a fortune playing it again on the talk show/nightclub circuit, but he blew his chance by dying in 1953.
